Redwood Systems, the leading provider of building-performance lighting solutions, today announced more than 300 percent year-over-year growth in sales, which has been driven by increased adoption of its products in commercial buildings, data centers and educational institutions. The company has been staffing up in sales, marketing and customer support as well as forging strategic partnerships to meet market demand.

A quick snapshot of 2011 successes shows that Redwood:
- Broadened its customer portfolio to include a number of key global brands, including Facebook, Volkswagen, Atheros (a Qualcomm company) and Jefferies.
- Forged a new path to market for lighting systems by partnering with Anixter International, who will supply and sell Redwood products through the low voltage channel.
- Developed a nationwide network of contractors who are certified to install and commission Redwood products.
- Partnered with Asia-based Mitsui & Co. Global Investment, Inc., to gain a foothold in Asian markets.
- Was awarded a patent for its unique ability to deliver power, communications and control through a single category or low voltage cable
- Strengthened its management team through the addition of experienced industry executives. These appointments include, in chronological order:
- Sam Klepper to Chief Marketing Officer and Executive Vice President of Building Solutions. In this role, Klepper taps his 20 years of experience in the clean tech and high tech industries to lead product strategy, marketing, demand generation and branding for the company’s building-performance lighting solutions.
- Tom Carlson to Chief Financial Officer. Carlson brings 20 years of experience in financial operations to this role in which he assumes responsibility for the company’s finance and legal departments to ensure continued growth and compliance.
- Bruce Pelton to the position of Senior Vice President of Lighting Technology. In this role, Pelton draws on his 35 years of experience in lighting technology to help the company broaden its partnerships with lighting fixture and component companies.
- Kirk Roller to the position of Executive Vice President of Sales. In this newly appointed position, Roller leverages his 20 years of sales, marketing and product development experience across renewable power generation and networking companies to oversee sales, channel and business development.
- Expanded Redwood’s sales, marketing and support teams to service enterprise accounts and capitalize on the exponential growth of the building-performance lighting market.
