Adapter

The Redwood Adapter, designed to disappear into the plenum or ceiling, resides next to each LED fixture and replaces the traditional driver used by LED fixtures. The Adapter accepts low voltage DC power from the Redwood Engine via Class 2 cabling and transfers this power to the LED fixture. But the Redwood Adapter does more than just provide power; it also contains a set of environmental sensors to enable Redwood Platform features designed to improve efficiency, including:

  • Tailored occupancy accurately detects the presence or absence of people
  • Daylight harvesting  enables every light in the system to automatically respond to changing ambient light levels throughout the day, saving energy
  • Operating condition of the fixture and memory to store fixture-specific identifying information

The Adapter communicates sensor results back to the Redwood Engine via the same Class 2 cabling from which it received low-voltage DC power.
